Féria Arles |

Lying at the gates of the Provence and the lands of Camargue, Arles is to the East the last city that lives and enjoys a culture of feria, a great festival as the city flares up to the occasion of bull events and multiple corridas. Whereas the Feria of Nimes, the most famous French feria, takes place during Whitsun, and the colorful “Fetes de Bayonne” at the end of July, the main Feria of Arles comes each year during Easter , another one comes in September, for the Rice Festival. Although it is not as famous as the Feria of Nimes, the Feria of Arles is at least as interesting, especially thanks to its arena, the largest Roman arena that still remains. Once a year, Arles, city of Van Gogh, host thousands of “festayres” (the people assisting to the feria) from all directions, that come there to enjoy this great tauromachy event, or just to have some fun in bodegas, dancing on the streets with Spanish music, and share some sangria.
